Synopsis:
Embezzlement is a sad reality and a crime of opportunity. It is a lot more common than most dentists realize. The reality is that once someone has decided to stick their hands in YOUR pocket, they are now thinking about how they will pull it off. You are busy with patients and they are helping themselves to YOUR hard earned money. You think it couldn't happen to you? Think again. Per the American Dental Association, surveys reveal that 35 percent of dental practices have been embezzled once, and 17 percent have been victims more than once. These are only the practices that we know about. Dishonest employees have the advantage in your practice. They know you and they know what practice monitors you are watching, if any. I will share a number of steps in this course to help you minimize and possibly prevent embezzlement in your practice.

Well worth my time and money! Sandy you did an excellent job at laying out the responsibilities of a dentist to prevent embezzlement in the practice. It's scary to think how many people don't know what to do to protect themselves from theft. We, as dentists, are so busy on a regular basis it's hard to keep up with what's going on. The safe guards that you have mentioned are so simple and should be easy to implement. I highly recommend taking this course!
Excellent information for all practice owners.

In the near future, I will be in the market for buying an office. As of now, I am studying in order to make an informed decision. This course has opened my eyes especially to hiring strategies and common ways that people embezzle.
